Functional Patterns : Functional Patterns is a training methodology that was founded in 2006 by CEO Naudi Aguilar. Naudi has conducted seminars globally certifying practitioners like us. We confidently say that Functional Patterns is the best in the fitness industry. Just look at the results achieved worldwide by Functional Patterns practitioners.
What are Functional Patterns?
Unlike any other point in human history, the main health crisis we face is the imbalance within our society and our disconnection from nature. Moving away from natural practices and shifting towards a more modern way of living has greatly affected our ability to move correctly and stay out of pain.
So, how can we achieve balance in a world filled with imbalance? The answer is straightforward: our health depends on how well we adapt to the natural environment. The more harmoniously we coexist with nature, the healthier and more resilient we become. For humans, this means bringing us back to the beneficial aspects of our evolutionary blueprint that made us healthy to begin with.
THE BLUEPRINT
There’s an evolutionary blueprint to how all organisms work and Functional Patterns has been cracking the code in human movement for nearly 15 years. Resulting from tens
of thousands of hours in testing, we have pioneered the FP methodology, syncing the physics of our natural environment to our health better than any other system out there.
Our conclusion has been to train humans according to their biological movement characteristics: Standing, Walking, Running, and Throwing — The “FP Big 4”. By optimizing these four human functions, achieving better health is not a gamble, but an inevitability. This is what it means to train Functional Patterns!
"We take the guesswork out of taking care of your body”

Integrative Massage includes a combination of many different modalities and services. Based on the assessment, conversation, and therapists knowledge a plan for your health and well being will be designed using the following techniques listed below.

Structural Assessment is completed at your first appointment and any point when I see it is needed. This Assessment provides exercise, health and fitness professionals with a step-by-step process for assessing clients for the most common musculoskeletal imbalances causing muscle dysfunction, joint discomfort and movement limitations.  This Assessment will help identify the areas that need attention and the treatment best suited for your specific issues.

Kinesiology is the study of the mechanics of body movements primarily as the use of muscle testing to identify imbalances in the body's structural, chemical, and emotional energy. Kinesiology uses gentle muscle-monitoring techniques to access the subconscious mind and gain accurate information about your current issues and what is needed to help your body, mind and spirit to restore balance.

Acupressure has been used for thousands of years in China. Acupressure is based on the same principles as acupuncture to promote relaxation and wellness and to treat disease.  Traditional Chinese medical theory describes meridians, invisible channels in your body that carry energy called qi (ch'i). They begin at your fingertips and connect to your brain and then an organ or networks of organs to create a communication system. When one of these meridians is blocked or out of balance, you get sick. Acupressure uses specific points along these meridians to help restore balance.  Western practitioners may say results come from things like reduced muscle tension, improved circulation, or the release of endorphins, which are natural pain relievers.

Neurokinetic Therapy is a  corrective movement system is based on the premise that when an injury has occurred, certain muscles shut down or become inhibited, forcing other muscles to become overworked. By applying light pressure that the client then resists, the practitioner can evaluate the strength or weakness of each muscle, revealing the sources of injury and retraining the client’s body to remove the compensation patterns.

Neuromuscular Therapy (Trigger Point Therapy)  (NMT) is a precise, thorough examination and manipulation of the body's soft tissues that aims to treat underlying causes of chronic pain involving the muscular and nervous systems. This medically-oriented form of massage addresses trigger points (tender muscles points), circulation, nerve compression, postural issues, and biomechanical problems that can be caused by repetitive movement injuries.

Range of Motion or Mobility (ROM) is the measurement of the amount of movement around a specific joint or body part and mobility is the quality or state of being mobile or movable.

Stretching lengthens the muscles, improving range of motion and flexibility.

Personal Training One on One Sessions with a personal trainer, an individual who has earned a certification that demonstrates they have achieved a level of competency, for creating and delivering safe and effective exercise programs for apparently healthy individuals and groups or those with medical clearance to exercise.

Functional Movement- Functional movements are movements based on real-world situational biomechanics. They usually involve multi-planar, multi-joint movements which place demand on the body's core musculature and innervation.

Functional Patterns simplified : Standing, walking, running, and throwing were the four most important movements for human survival. These movements are what experts characterize as bipedal and revolve around the contralateral reciprocation of the arms and legs. These are just fancy words to describe the motions that humans use to get from point A to point B. At FP, we’ve taken a first principle’s approach, shedding away all the ambiguities and getting down to what works. At the end of the day, we’re all human and our anatomical structures are similar enough that we all function in predictable and characteristic patterns.By breaking it down into the most fundamental components, we define 'functional' on the shared functions that anthropologists say define our human species from every other animal on planet earth: The FP First Four — Standing, Walking, Running, and Throwing.

Virtual Training are One on One personal Training Sessions conducted over Zoom or Face Time

Mobile or Remote Programming  a custom 6-12 week exercise program design specifically for you to complete over a certain span of time where ever you choose (i.e. home, gym, hotels. etc.) You will have the ability to communicate with me as your trainer through out your workouts via an app. This program includes modifications that may need to be made along the way,  review of videos and advice for better form. This does not include nutrition consultations.

Lifestyle Coaching is a tool offered in all services to help you grow by analyzing your current situation, identifying limiting beliefs or movements  and other potential challenges and obstacles you face and devising a custom plan of action designed to help you achieve specific outcomes in your health, fitness, and wellness.

Nutritionists evaluate your diet and offer you personalized advice based on your health goals or medical needs, a nutritionist can make recommendations and put together meal plans.

**The biggest difference between a dietitian and nutritionist is how their titles are legally protected. Every dietitian is a nutritionist but not every nutritionist is a dietitian.

Sports Massage refers to “a collection of massage techniques performed on athletes or active individuals for the purpose of aiding recovery or treating pathology.” Deep Tissue Massage typically is a full body approach but Sports massage, on the other hand, is a targeted massage approach that focuses on specific areas of the body that are in need of healing or relief.

MediCupping

A wonderful ancient tool has found its place in the contemporary world of health care. ACE Massage Cupping™ is a modern form of vacuum therapy, and the incredible results that this simple treatment produces have truly impressed those who experience its subtle power.

By creating suction and vacuum pressure, ACE Massage Cupping™ is used to soften tight muscles and tone attachments, loosen adhesions and lift connective tissue, bring hydration and blood flow to body tissues, move deep inflammation to the skin surface for release, and drain excess fluids and toxins by opening lymphatic pathways.

ACE Massage Cupping™ therapy is incredibly versatile and the basic movements can easily be customized to accomplish a wide variety of techniques, from lymphatic drainage to deep tissue release and even cellulite! (Credits to ACE AT Massagecupping.com)

Magnetic Cupping is a wonderful tool that combines micro-cups with positive and negative magnetic poles. Great for calming the nervous system, pain relief, or muscle and nerve stimulation. The magnetic equipment has shown great results in the treatment of scoliosis and past injury sites. In addition, the magnetic therapy yields amazing results with neuropathy, along with pain common with diabetes, multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia, edema, sciatica, and more.. Lymphatic drainage massage is a special type of massage that reduces swelling caused by fluid buildup. It can help treat lymphedema as well as post-surgical swelling, edema, sinus congestion, fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, lipedema and chronic venous insufficiency, experts and research note. Some of the benefits of lymphatic drainage massage include reduced swelling and inflammation, enhanced immune system function and relaxation and stress relief.

Cranial Sacral Therapy:

Cranial sacral therapy (CST) is sometimes also referred to as craniosacral therapy. It’s a type of bodywork that relieves muscle and joint tightness around the bones of the head, sacrum (a triangular bone in the lower back), and spinal column.

CST is noninvasive. It uses gentle pressure on the head, neck, and back to relieve the stress and pain caused by musculoskeletal tightness. It can, as a result, help to treat a number of conditions.

It’s thought that through the gentle manipulation of the bones in the skull, spine, and pelvis, the flow of cerebrospinal fluid in the central nervous system can be normalized. One case studyTrusted Source suggested that this therapy promoted normal CSF flow in one patient.

CST is thought to relieve musculoskeletal tightness in the head, neck, and back. This can soothe pain and release both emotional and physical stress and tension. It’s also thought to help restore cranial mobility and ease or release restrictions of the head, neck, and nerves.

Cranial sacral therapy can be used for people of all ages. It may be part of your treatment for conditions like:

migraines and headaches

constipation

irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)

disturbed sleep cycles and insomnia

scoliosis

sinus infections

neck pain

fibromyalgia

recurrent ear infections or colic in infants

TMJ

trauma recovery, including trauma from whiplash

mood disorders like anxiety or depression

difficult pregnancies
