Tara M. Curvin LMT, CPT, GFS, FNS, Stick Mobility, MediCupping Certified
I was just 3 years old when I started my journey as an athlete. A short period into dancing turned into gymnastics, cheerleading, basketball, swimming, and later weight lifting. In 2010, I started experiencing debilitating pain. It started with one visit to the doctor and became a snowball of medical bills before a doctor from Vanderbilt Medical finally made a more clear and precise (but partial) diagnosis to what was causing my pain. I started Physical Therapy, Myofascial Bodywork, and Strength Training, which ultimately inspired the spark of teaching and educating others who are experiencing similar issues. I don't coach from learning cues but from the time spent rehabbing my body. I’m addicted to knowledge!
My passion for health and fitness led to becoming a NASM Certified Personal Trainer with other certifications such as Group Fitness Specialist, Stick Mobility Trainer, and Fitness Nutrition Specialist. A few years into my Training Career I felt I needed to do more, so I attended Cumberland Institute of Holistic Therapies where I obtained my License for massage therapy. In 2023 I started my training in Functional Patterns, which allows me to specialize in biomechanics training. This form of training is the best style of training I've ever encountered. This training is all about fascia and how the body is designed to move and has been a key ingredient in my healing journey.
In my sessions I work to find an overall balance in the body between Strength, Mobility, Stability and most importantly life! I see clients for a number of reasons but I specialize in alleviating pain and dsyfunctions. Pain is a driving force that got me into this line of work and the more I hack my pain, the more I can help you hack yours. My sessions are not for the lazy. I expect my clients to follow through on taking power back in regards to their health. We work together to get your body back to its optimal state.
I obtained a Fine Arts Degree from O'More College of Design located right here in Franklin,TN. When I am not with clients or coaching classes I spend most of my time with my 3 dogs, traveling, and enjoying many of Nashville's extra curricular activities, such as, Predators Games. Go Preds!
